Why Regenerative Agriculture?

We take pride in raising a variety of animals—including cows, pigs, goats, chickens, and turkeys—using pasture-based, regenerative practices. Our animals live the way nature intended: grazing, rooting, and foraging on open pasture. In the summer, you’ll often spot our cows, pigs, and goats roaming the same lush fields, each species naturally drawn to different types of vegetation—kind of like the Serengeti. Our cows prefer the taller grasses, while the pigs turn over the soil in search of roots and grubs, and the goats tackle the brambles and brush. Together, they help us regenerate the land, building healthier soil and creating a thriving, balanced ecosystem.

Our chickens follow in mobile coops, or “chicken tractors,” which we move regularly to fresh pasture. This gives them access to nutrient-rich grass and bugs while allowing them to scratch and aerate the soil—boosting its fertility. The result? Happier animals, healthier land, and better-tasting food.

We believe in full transparency. You deserve to know where your food comes from and how it was raised. That’s why we never use hormones or antibiotics. Instead, we focus on giving our animals a low-stress, natural life that promotes their health and well-being.

The difference is on the plate. Pasture-raised meat is more flavorful, tender, and nutrient-dense—without the additives or waterlogging common in grocery store meat. Once you taste the rich, clean flavor of locally-raised meat, it’s hard to go back.

When you choose Long Lane Farms, you’re not just buying meat—you’re supporting a farm that prioritizes animal welfare, environmental stewardship, and sustainable food. Every bite tells a story of care, integrity, and respect for the land we call home.
